Switching to Debian

At my work I'm switching to Debian,
The rational behind this, is that I want to be able to take full advantage of the 64bit machine I have at my work. With the 32bit windows version I currently use I can only use 3.2 out of 4 Gb of memory, and well I can always install a virtual box in which I run my windows.
However this means that I need to port the web server (and the CGI code running my blog) to another back-end (again). But well perhaps I'll update it and then use D programming language for the web server and for the website.
I already made a small test to see if this could work, and it seems that with a web server of only 700 Kb in size I can run my website just fine.
